Real Taps for Real Heroes – Honoring the Fallen in Normandy and Brittany

Written by

This March, I had the profound honor of traveling to Normandy and the Brittany American Cemetery to sound Taps in tribute to our fallen heroes.

On March 10 at 4:30 PM, I stood on the sacred grounds of Normandy, where so many gave their lives for the cause of freedom, and offered Taps as a solemn act of remembrance.
On March 11 at 4:30 PM, I played again at the Brittany American Cemetery, surrounded by rows of white crosses marking the resting places of those who never came home.

These moments were deeply humbling. With each note, I sought to honor the memory of the brave men and women who paid the ultimate price. Taps is more than a melody—a promise that they are not forgotten.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the American Battle Monuments Commission ABMC.gov for their gracious hospitality, tireless stewardship of these sacred sites, and dedication to preserving our heroes’ memory. Your work ensures that future generations remember.
